Whether these two examples from the Gospels are the actual moments they believed, or whether they are just a statement of belief, it is the belief that counts.
Do you believe/say the same about Jesus as Peter and Thomas?
Peter:
'Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked his disciples, saying, “Who do people say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
They said, “Some say John the Baptizer, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.' Mat 16:13-17
Thomas:
'After eight days again His disciples were inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, the doors being locked, and stood in the middle, and said, “Peace be to you.” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here your finger, and see my hands. Reach here your hand, and put it into my side. Don’t be unbelieving, but believing.”
Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and have believed.”' John 20:26-29
Notice how Jesus responds to each. Hear Jesus saying this to you: 'Blessed are you, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. Blessed are you who have not seen, and have believed.'
